San Diego Comic-Con is upon us, ladies and gentleman! With that, you can always expect some excellent new content to talk about. Today, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. dropped the first trailer for next summer’s Wonder Woman.
Of course, we already got our first look at Gal Gadot as the title character in this year’s universally panned Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. She was arguably one of the lone bright spots of that film in general. It looks like we’re going to get more great stuff from Gadot in this solo film as well.
Wonder Woman will focus on Diana Prince’s origin story which is set during World War I. The action scenes in the trailer are excellent as they showcase her iconic powers in battle. On top of that, we finally get to see an updated take on the classic outfit. We also see a lot of Chris Pine as Steve Trevor and his relationship with Prince. Robin Wright, Connie Nielsen, Danny Huston, and David Thewlis have all been cast in Wonder Woman as well.
After all of the negative reactions to Batman v Superman, it’s refreshing to see that this film appears to take on a lighter tone. It just looks like it’s going to be a fun, action packed film. This is the type of strong female character that Hollywood needs to put stock into at this point in time.
Wonder Woman opens in theaters on June 2nd, 2017. Check out the trailer and comment below.
