Just when you thought that we were totally passed the whole vampires and werewolves thing, the trailer for Underworld: Blood Wars drops.
In all fairness to the Underworld series, they’re not like Twilight. The first two movies were actually pretty decent. They had some good action scenes and an interesting plot with a few twists. However, after seeing the trailer for Blood Wars, it’s safe to wonder if we have seen this all before.
The plot involves the vampire death dealer, Selene (Kate Beckinsale), as she tries to end the war between the Lycans and Vampires. Sound familiar? It should. This is basically the loose story of seemingly all of the Underworld films. Even the cinematography and action looks the same. If you haven’t seen any of these movies, this one trailer could basically sum up the whole series.
Frankly, it’s surprising so see another film in the series and, originally, this was going to be a reboot. So far, there has been a sequel to the original film, a prequel to the original, and now an additional two sequels that follow the events of the first sequel. In all honesty, it’s not surprising that the filmmakers were considering a reboot.
Alas, we now have Underworld: Blood Wars opening on January 6th, 2017. Check out the trailer if you need an Underworld fix and comment below.
