Ben Affleck has been a busy, busy man as of late. Aside from laying down a quality performance in David Fincher’s Gone Girl and loading up his resume with Batman credits, Affleck found time to star in the upcoming film by Gavin O’Connor, The Accountant.
Affleck plays Christian Wolff, a gifted OCD accountant who un-cooks the books for criminals with stolen money. From the trailer, it also looks like Christian has an affinity for weapons and gunplay. Although nothing is explicitly stated, it seems that someone eventually is onto Christian and things go south from there.
Along with Affleck, the rest of the main cast looks great. Anna Kendrick, Academy Award Winner J.K. Simmons, Jon Bernthal, Jeffrey Tambor, and John Lithgow are all featured at the end of the trailer as well as on the official poster. The director, O’Connor, hasn’t been heard from much since his underrated film, Warrior, back in 2011. With The Accountant being released during awards season, it could definitely see a strong push for Oscar consideration.
Right now, all that is known about The Accountant is basically what’s in the trailer but this will be one to keep an eye on in the coming months. Check out the trailer and comment below.
