The new film by Nicolas Winding Refn, The Neon Demon, gets its first trailer.
Criminally underrated director, Nicolas Winding Refn, has a new film coming out and it’s coming out soon! The Neon Demon is set to hit theaters in June as per IMDb and the trailer looks fantastic.
This isn’t much of a surprise for anyone that has seen one of Refn’s previous films. If you haven’t seen any of them, shame on you. Some of Refn’s previous work includes Only God Forgives, Drive, and Valhalla Rising. All of his films have beautiful cinematography and make excellent use of color and this new film looks no different.
Elle Fanning, Keanu Reeves, Jena Malone, and Christina Hendricks star in The Neon Demon. Fanning appears to be an aspiring model locked into competition with a number of other girls. It looks somewhat similar to Black Swan actually. In the trailer, we get glimpses of the beautiful camerawork, stylized and colorful sets, some sexuality, and even what appears to be a little brutality by the end. All of these things are recurring traits of the director.
The Neon Demon will be premiering at the Cannes Film Festival in May before its theatrical release in the US. If you haven’t seen any of Refn’s previous work, make sure you do and then go see The Neon Demon as soon as it hits theaters this summer. Check out the trailer and comment below.
