Along with Alien: Covenant, another upcoming May 2017 release has received a new trailer. The highly anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 appears to be everything it’s expected to be so far.
Due to the massive success and acclaim of the first film, it was inevitable that a sequel would be in order. As we’ve stated countless times now, Marvel just cannot be stopped. The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to roll unopposed in quality. With this new trailer, we’re quickly reminded of how likable the characters are and how expansive this film universe truly is.
Of course, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel return as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Rocket, and Baby Groot respectively. Also, the Guardians of the Galaxy appear to have a few new faces among their ranks. While Yondu (Michael Rooker) and Nebula (Karen Gillan) were in the first film, they were villainous characters (at times) and certainly weren’t a part of the group. This time, it appears that they will actually join the Guardians along with Mantis (Pom Klementieff). In this trailer, we get our first look at Kurt Russell in the film as well.
The first film was an entertaining romp set to the backdrop of Awesome Mixtape Vol. 1. We have Awesome Mixtape Vol. 2 to look forward to with this new film. The first teaser featured The Sweet’s “Fox on the Run” which was great but the new trailer has “The Chain” by Fleetwood Mac which is absolutely amazing. To sum it all up, everything about this film looks amazing so far.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be released on May 5th. Check out the new trailer and comment below.
