Due to the ridiculous amount of backlash from… everyone… Ghostbusters has now received what should be called an apology trailer. Clearly, this trailer is an attempt at instilling faith back into moviegoers as it focuses more on ghosts than it does the female cast.
Now, that’s all fine and dandy but if anyone out there thinks that this trailer is any better than the previous one, stop and think about it for a second. There are a number of scenes that have been recycled from the first trailer and they’re still as unfunny as they were the first time around.
On top of that, Slimer and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man make an appearance but it just seems like they’re in there to get a cheap pop out of fans of the original film. While it is great to see those characters again, they really don’t look that good as they’re completely CGI. They just don’t look good in the real world location that the rest of the film is in. The ghosts in the original Ghostbusters worked so well because they were done using practical effects. It’s a shame that the filmmakers of this reboot didn’t take the same character with their supernatural characters.
Ultimately, if you liked this trailer more than the previous one, that’s fine but don’t be fooled just because they threw in a little more action. Just the fact that they put some of the same lame jokes into this new trailer doesn’t bode well for anyone expecting this movie to redeem itself. Check out the new trailer and comment below.
