Back in August, we received a brief glimpse at Christopher Nolan’s upcoming World War II epic. Today, we get the full Dunkirk trailer.
In our previous post, we talked about the history of The Battle of Dunkirk so that won’t be rehashed here. The original teaser only had a brief scene of a group of soldiers looking to the sky. The only recognizable face being in the crowd was that of Harry Styles from the band, One Direction. In this new Dunkirk trailer, though, we get the full rundown of talent. Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance, and Kenneth Branagh are all featured. All four are extremely talented actors and the two former have worked with Nolan in the past. Rylance and Branagh are newcomers in Nolan’s work but both can be expected to turn in some memorable performances.
As with most Nolan films, Dunkirk feels like a passion project. There’s a grandiose feel to the trailer as it quickly goes over the events which land the Allied soldiers at Dunkirk. The setting and cinematography feel, for lack of a better term, epic. There’s no doubt about it that Christopher Nolan films are events upon release. They’re not always universally praised but they’re always talked about. This film feels no different.
There’s really not a lot to say that can hype this movie any more. Again, a Nolan film is an event and people will definitely be at the theater for this one. The film comes out on July 21st, 2017. Check out the Dunkirk trailer and comment below.
