On April 17th, 2016, Doris Roberts passed away at the age of 90.
Best known for her role as Marie Barone on Everybody Loves Raymond, Doris Roberts had a career that spanned across seven decades. Her first career acting credit came in 1951 as an operator on an anthology television series called Starlight Theatre. From there, she appeared on countless other TV shows including Remington Steele, Love Boat, and the aforementioned Everybody Loves Raymond for nine seasons. In her long career, Roberts received five Emmy Awards as well as a Screen Actors Guild award. She was never much of a leading lady in feature films. However, due to the sheer amount of films she has appeared in, it’s almost a certainty that you’ve seen her in something.
Doris Roberts passed away in her sleep from natural causes.
